Kendall is an unincorporated suburban Miami community situated in the southwest area of Miami-Dade County, Florida. While the defined boundaries of the neighborhood have been labeled Kendall by the US Census Bureau, locals often included western communities, such as The Hammocks, Country Walk, The Crossings, Kendall Lakes, Kendall West, and Three Lakes, as part of Kendall.

Among Kendall’s many attractive features is its claim to two colleges, Miami-Dade College’s (MDC) main campus and Florida International University (FIU), which opened in 1972 as Miami-Dade County’s first public, four-year university.
